Last week I was very lucky to take part in the launch of We Do Us, an initiative led by Smirnoff and a new long-term partnership with Sinead Burke’s accessibility consultancy, Tilting the Lens, and Stonegate, the UK’s largest pub company to make socialising more accessible for disabled people.
Curated by the incredible Sink the Pink in London’s 26 Leake Street, the line up included ME, Mel C, Leigh-Anne (of Little Mix), Mae Muller, Jonbers, Drag Syndrome and Joshua James. Yeah. Wild. Wild, wild, wild.
Access was the aim of the night, and from the information listed on the event’s web page to the staff of Leake Street, the dance floor to the backstage area, access was achieved, creating one of the most truly diverse nights that I’ve ever been part of.
