With the frustrating trend of big pop stars refusing to visit Dublin, I managed to find the silver lining of Madonna only visiting certain European cities by visiting Stockholm, the home of pop (Abba! Robyn! Tove Lo! Lykke Li! Max Martin!) and a bucket list destination of mine.

Before I got there, I was informed that all of Stockholm’s public transport (trams, subway, trains, buses, ferries) was accessible and most restaurants had wheelchair bathrooms. I was also advised that the cobbled part of town, Gamla Stan, was probably not worth the hype, but of course I ignored that tidbit and would later suffer the consequences.

The Celebrations Tour, Tele2 Arena

The main point of the trip was Madonna, the Queen of Pop who is currently undertaking the European leg of her Celebrations Tour, having postponed the opening North American leg due to illness. I was totally convinced that she wouldn’t make it over here, but she did, and only a mere two hours late to the stage.
