There’s a handful of places in Dublin where I can DJ, with access being the main reason I don’t play all over town, although some might say that I certainly get around. Wigwam is the very first venue in Dublin that I ever DJed in, and when it was known as Twisted Pepper, I used to intern there too. So, we’ve got a lovely history, one that keeps extending.

This weekend, I’ve got a very exciting event on there. Along with my pal Joey, we have invited author Michael Cragg over to discuss his incredible pop anthology Reach for the Stars: 1996–2006: Fame, Fallout and Pop’s Final Party, where I will be hosting the Q&A. This book is a biblical collection of stories from everyone heavily involved in the UK pop scene, from Spice Girls to the X Factor, and sheds some incredible light on what went on behind the scenes.

As I am currently drawing up a list of questions, I can promise that I will be dedicating a huge segment to Nadine Coyle getting her date of birth wrong on Irish Popstars. I may even ask the audience for their best impression of this iconic scene. I will also be DJing afterwards for a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party like no other. I’ve been downloading entire discographies from Steps, Five, A1, Atomic Kitten etc., and I’ve been debating whether or not American Y2K icons should make the cut. Spoiler: they probably will.

So if you’re around on Saturday, do join us the deepest of dives on what is arguably the greatest decade in pop. You can get your tickets here.
